Bastille Day - 14/07/2008 - by Eurostar   Liberté, Egalité and Fraternité! And this is where it all began – on the 14th July 1789 the Paris mob attacked the hated Bastille fortress, released the prisoners, heralded the start of the Revolution …and began a tradition of the biggest street party in the French calendar! Parades, parties and fireworks characterise the modern Bastille Day. Celebrations run from the 13th, culminating in the grand fireworks display on the Champs de Mars on the 14th.
