Eurostar announced , last week that they were to become a Tier 3 Sponsor of London 2012 - which totally makes sense for both the Olympic Organising Committee and Eurostar. To mark this occasion Eurostar announced a Tri-Country Triathalon , quite a good idea I thought. Jacquelin Magnay Olympic Games Editor for The Telegraph disagreed and wrote a particularly scathing article criticising the launch and the idea of the triathalon with equal venom. After reading the article I thought I’d make the point that the article was over the top and that our friends at Eurostar deserved a bit more credit but was unable to find it even when following links from Google News as below
London 2012: Eurostar sponsorship presentation quickly runs out of …
Telegraph.co.uk - Jacquelin Magnay - 12 May 2010
When Lord Sebastian Coe and Dame Kelly Holmes went to inscribe their signature on a Eurostar train at St Pancras this morning, ostensibly to celebrate the …
A bit odd , but these things happens - bit given that the Telegraph had previously been promoting the Eurostar event very strongly _ I wonder if the two events are related - hardly a conspiracy theory to compare with the Grassy knoll but made me think.
With the reopening of the Channel Tunnel, Eurostar are now able to add in extra train services when demand requires it. This has turned up a interesting mix when Valentines and 6 Nations Rugby collide.
On the weekend of the 14th Feb - the most romantic city in the world will also play host to lots of Scotland fans hoping to see their team reverse the 27 - 6 hammering they received last February in Murrayfield. So Eurostar’s extra trains will be filled with Valetiner’s and Rugby Fans and am sure a small proportion of those who fall in both categories - I suppose on the way out all will be well - on the way back I suppose it’s down to who gets the best results : )
Following his outburst to the press yesterday, which involved a harsh, verbal attack on his young Arsenal team-mates, William Gallas has today hinted at a shock move from the Emirates to Paris St-Germain.
Gallas’s role as Arsenal club captain in under threat this weekend after he revealed details of a dressing room bust-up during half-time of the 4-4 draw with fierce rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.
In an article published today on Times Online, Gallas stated he is planning his exit from Arsenal to a French club - where he would see out the rest of his footballing career. In addition to PSG, who play their football at Le Parc Des Princes, a move to old club Marseilles, Lyon or Bordeaux could be on the cards. He is however, attracted to joining former Chelsea and International team-mate Claude Makelele at Paris St-Germain.
