Interesting news last Wednesday reported in various places that Air France is looking to also run a train service between Paris and London from 2010.

They are hoping to use a newer generation of high speed trains which, using the same track as Eurostar currently do and using the International terminal at St Pancras, will cut the journey time to 2 hrs. Of course this raises a few ‘issues’ for Eurostar who have enjoyed a boom in popularity over the past few years due to it’s efficiency, it’s greener credentials, the opening of a new station and the reduction in journey time. This popularity has meant that they have been able to be very bullish with their pricing - this could change it all - Short Breaks will keep an eye on this and keep you informed.
