The 4* Ghent River Hotel is situated on the right bank of the Leie and a few minutes walk takes you in one of Ghent's largest squares and it is the only hotel that can be reached by boat. This unique hotel combines the finest of modern amenities with the historic architecture of a periodic building.
The hotel was a restoration of two very old buildings: a renaissance house, dated 1518 and a rice-mill built on a burnt down sugar refinery, dated 1857. The building also served as a cotton spinning-mill (1873), a warehouse (1879) and a steam activated bakery (1892). The hotel is ideally located to explore the sights and sounds of the region including the lively Friday Market and the Toreken.
The rooms are comfortably equipped with individual regulated heating, colour TV with remote control, direct dial telephone, internet access, safe, mini-bar and fully equipped bathroom with hair-dryer. As well as the modern amenities they also offer an excellent sauna, where you can relax after a stressful day or you can chill out at the cosy bar in the hotel where you can try some local and national drinks.
Please Note: City tax of €3 per person per night is payable locally.
